SET OF EXPERIMENTS (LI =28 hours)
Students shall perform practical exercises related to:
1. Introduction to MATLAB environment, command window, variables, matrices, and basic plotting.
2. Arithmetic operations, unit conversions, and engineering calculator using MATLAB.
3. Solution of simultaneous equations relevant to structural and water resources problems.
4. Plotting of load–deflection, stress–strain, and discharge–head graphs using MATLAB.
5. Interpolation and curve fitting for civil engineering data.
6. Numerical differentiation and integration for engineering applications.
7. Spreadsheet creation for civil engineering calculations using formulas and cell referencing.
8. Preparation of quantity estimation sheet for a simple building component.
9. Rate analysis sheet for common civil engineering items.
10. Data entry, sorting, filtering, and conditional formatting for field/lab data in spreadsheets.
11. Statistical analysis of test data using spreadsheet functions, averages, standard deviation, and charts.
12. Regression analysis and trendline-based prediction using spreadsheet tools.
